1. A Little Twist at 30,000 Feet
On a bustling flight soaring high above the clouds, a charming young boy named Johnny found himself seated next to an elegant woman. Midway through the journey, without warning, the plane was rocked by violent turbulence and suddenly took a sharp dive toward the ground.
The captain’s voice crackled over the intercom, grim and serious:
“Ladies and gentlemen, we’re experiencing critical difficulties. Please brace yourselves. Survival is uncertain.”
Panic swept through the cabin like wildfire. People screamed, prayed, and clutched their loved ones. Yet little Johnny, with wide, earnest eyes, gently tugged on the woman’s sleeve.
“Excuse me, ma’am,” he said, his voice barely a whisper, “I know this is a strange time… but I’ve never had my first kiss.”
Caught off guard, the woman hesitated, but seeing the innocence in his eyes — and believing these might indeed be their final moments — she smiled warmly and gave him a sweet, heartfelt kiss.
Blushing, Johnny looked up at her again. “I’m sorry to bother you once more… but I’ve also never hugged a lady the special way grown-ups do.”
Touched by his honesty and wanting to bring him comfort, the woman gently pulled him into a tender embrace, letting him rest his head against her as the plane shuddered.
Moments later, Johnny spoke again, even more sheepishly,
“One more thing… I’ve never known what it feels like to be truly close to someone.”

The woman, feeling a deep compassion and not wanting the boy to leave the world full of regrets, began to undo his seatbelt and leaned closer.
But before anything more could happen, the aircraft abruptly steadied. The passengers erupted in cheers, hugging and crying in relief.
As they disembarked, many shook the captain’s hand, thanking him for his heroic efforts. The elegant woman, still overwhelmed, smiled at the captain and said, “Thank you for saving all our lives.”
From behind her, Johnny piped up mischievously,
“Yeah, but next time, Dad… give it five more minutes!”
2. A sergeant returned to the military base
After a weekend getaway, a sergeant returned to the military base only to find none of his soldiers had arrived on time.
Three hours passed before they began trickling in, and by then, he was ready to burst with frustration.
Deciding to hear their excuses, he summoned each soldier to his office one by one.
The first soldier entered, and the sergeant demanded, “Why were you late?”
“Sorry, sir! Here’s what happened,” the soldier began. “I missed the bus, tried hitchhiking, and an old man in a horse-drawn buggy offered me a ride. I couldn’t refuse, but it was slow-going.”
“Hmph,” the sergeant muttered, surprised. “I suppose that’s understandable,” and he let the soldier off.
This scenario repeated with each soldier presenting the exact same tale of slow horse-drawn travel as their reason for tardiness.
Finally, the last soldier walked in, and the sergeant, now visibly irritated, sarcastically asked, “Let me guess, you hitchhiked too?”
“Yes, sir!”
