Fed up with all the blonde jokes and the constant assumption that blondes aren’t the sharpest tools in the shed, a determined blonde decided it was time to prove the world — or at least her husband — wrong.

While her husband was away at work, she came up with a clever idea: she’d take on a home improvement project all by herself. Nothing too complicated — just painting a couple of rooms. “That’ll show him I’m more than just pretty hair,” she thought confidently.

The next morning, the moment her husband left for the office, she got started. She gathered the paint, brushes, and drop cloths, and got to work like a woman on a mission.

When her husband returned home around 5:30 p.m., he immediately noticed the smell of fresh paint in the air. Curious (and a bit concerned), he walked into the living room — and stopped in his tracks.

There, lying on the floor in a puddle of sweat, was his wife. She was flushed, exhausted… and wearing a thick fur coat underneath a bulky ski jacket.

He rushed over. “Are you okay?” he asked.

She nodded, wiping sweat from her brow. “I’m fine. I just spent the whole day painting the house.”

“But why in the world are you dressed like that?” he asked, utterly confused.

Without missing a beat, she looked at him and said seriously:

“I followed the directions on the paint can. It said, ‘For best results, apply two coats.’”
