Find lamp, comb, nail, pill

A cozy bedroom… and four sneaky hidden objects

At first glance, this picture looks sweet and simple: an elderly couple sitting up in bed, a green blanket pulled over them, lamps on each side, and a calm, cartoon-style bedroom. But hidden inside this peaceful scene is a fun little challenge: can you find a lamp, a comb, a nail, and a pill?

The twist? Almost everyone sees some of them in seconds… and then gets stuck on the last one.

Before you scroll any further, take a good look at the image. Don’t rush. Can you honestly say you’ve found all four objects? Or did one of them make you stop and think, “Okay, where on earth is that hiding?”

Let’s see how sharp your eyes really are.

Why this “find the objects” puzzle is harder than it looks

You might think a simple cartoon scene shouldn’t be much of a challenge. But this kind of puzzle plays tricks on your attention and expectations. Here are a few reasons so many people miss at least one item:

You assume the obvious answer is too easy
The lamp, for example, is sitting right there on the bedside table. Because it’s obvious, some people mentally cross it off as “background” instead of one of the answers. Your brain decides, “No way, that’s just part of the furniture,” and keeps searching for something more hidden.

You expect objects to appear in typical places
When you think of a comb, you might picture it on a nightstand, a dresser, or in someone’s hand. A nail? Maybe in a wall or a toolbox. A pill? On a bedside table or in a bottle. When the artist hides them somewhere unexpected, your brain simply skips over them.

You don’t look closely at shapes inside other shapes
This is a big one. Many people scan the big picture but ignore the tiny changes in lines, colors, and patterns inside pillows, tables, and headboards. The pill and nail in this puzzle rely heavily on that blind spot.

You stop after finding three
Once you’ve found three objects, your brain relaxes and gets lazy. You feel “almost done,” and your attention drops. That’s usually when the fourth object quietly laughs at you from its hiding place.

If that sounds familiar, don’t worry. You’re definitely not alone. Now let’s walk through the solution together, step by step.

Step-by-step: how to find all four hidden objects

If you still want to try solving the puzzle on your own, pause here and give yourself another 30 seconds with the image. After that, come back and check how many you got right.

Ready? Let’s go.

1. The lamp

We’ll start with the easiest one.

Look at the bedside tables on each side of the bed. On the left table, there’s a blue lamp with a beige base. On the right table, there’s another lamp with the same shape and color scheme.

The puzzle only asks you to find “lamp,” so spotting either one of these counts. The artist didn’t actually hide this object much—it’s there as a warm-up and also as a psychological trick. Some people overthink it and assume the lamp can’t possibly be part of the challenge because it’s too obvious.

Location: On the bedside tables at each side of the bed
Correct answer: The lamp is sitting on the nightstand

2. The comb

Now it gets a little more interesting.

Shift your eyes to the foot of the bed, where the blanket meets the wooden bed frame. Right in the center of the wooden footboard, you’ll see an orange shape with several evenly spaced “teeth” pointing downward. That’s the comb, cleverly drawn so it almost looks like part of the bed’s design.

If you were only scanning the green blanket or the characters’ faces, you might have missed it completely. But once you focus on the wood panel, the comb practically pops out.

Location: On the wooden footboard at the bottom of the bed
Correct answer: The comb is built into the bed’s front panel

3. The nail

This one fools a lot of people, because it’s disguised as part of the furniture.

Look to the right bedside table, the one under the lamp on the man’s side. There’s a circular shape on the front of the drawer area. At first glance, it looks like a normal knob or a design element. But that little circle represents the head of the nail.

The artist didn’t draw a full nail sticking out of a plank of wood. Instead, only the top is visible, and it blends beautifully into the cartoon style of the nightstand. That’s why so many people skip it—they don’t even realize they should be treating that small circle as a separate object.

Location: On the right bedside table, in the front panel
Correct answer: The nail is hidden as a circular nail head on the nightstand

4. The pill

This is the true troublemaker, the one that has people zooming in, squinting, and muttering to themselves. It isn’t on the bedside table, next to a glass of water, or in the man’s hand. Instead, it hides in one of the softest, most innocent parts of the image: the woman’s pillow.

Look carefully at the pillow behind the woman’s head. The blue shape of the pillow has a subtle two-toned detail—an oval, capsule-like form that matches the style of the pill shown in the reference icons at the top of the image. That little capsule is the pill, cleverly drawn as part of the pillow’s surface.

Because our brains interpret the entire pillow as a single object, they often ignore the smaller shape on top of it. Once you separate that shape in your mind, the pill becomes obvious.

Location: On the woman’s pillow, shaped like a capsule
Correct answer: The pill is hidden in the pillow behind her head

What this puzzle teaches about attention and logic

Beyond being entertaining, this puzzle is a surprisingly good exercise in observation and logical thinking. Here’s what it trains:

You learn to question assumptions
The lamp teaches you that not everything obvious should be dismissed. Just because something is easy to see doesn’t mean it isn’t part of the challenge.

You practice noticing patterns and shapes
The comb and nail challenge you to look at visual patterns more carefully. That orange line with teeth is not just decoration. That small circle is not “just a knob.”

You learn to look beyond the center
The pill hiding in the pillow reminds you that important details can appear anywhere, not just where your eyes naturally land.

You sharpen patience and persistence
Finding all four items forces you to slow down, re-scan the image, and consider new possibilities. That’s a valuable habit far beyond puzzles.

Now it’s your turn: share your result and challenge others

So, how did you do?

Did you find:

  1. The lamp on the nightstands
  2. The comb on the bed’s footboard
  3. The nail disguised in the right bedside table
  4. The pill hidden in the woman’s pillow
