“Just a Splash, Please”

An elegant older woman walks into the lounge aboard a luxury cruise ship and takes a seat at the bar. She smiles at the bartender and says,
“I’ll have a Scotch, and just a couple drops of water in it.”

As he hands her the drink, she adds with a grin,
“Today’s a special day — I’m turning 80!”

The bartender, impressed, responds,
“Well then, this one’s on the house. Happy birthday!”

She sips her drink, clearly enjoying herself, when the woman sitting nearby leans over and says,
“Let me treat you to the next one — 80 is a milestone worth celebrating!”

The birthday lady nods appreciatively.
“Thank you, dear. I’ll have another Scotch… with just two drops of water.”

A few minutes later, a gentleman sitting on her other side hears the story and says,
“Well now, I can’t let the ladies outdo me. May I buy you a drink as well?”

The woman chuckles softly.
“Why, thank you. Bartender, same again — Scotch, two drops of water.”

As the bartender slides over the third drink, he raises an eyebrow and says,
“If you don’t mind me asking, ma’am… why the Scotch with only two drops of water every time?”

She leans in and replies with a wink,
“Sweetheart, after 80 years, I know how to handle my liquor…
It’s just the water I can’t trust anymore.
