The Jogger, the Tennis Balls, and the Mix-Up

It was a sunny Saturday morning when a man decided to go for his usual jog through the park and along the neighborhood streets. The air was crisp, the birds were chirping, and everything felt calm — until he spotted something unusual on the side of the road.

There, lying in the grass near the curb, were two perfectly good tennis balls. He looked around to see if anyone had dropped them, but the street was empty.

“Finders keepers,” he thought with a grin. Not having a bag with him, he slid one ball into each pocket of his running shorts and carried on.

A few blocks later, he reached an intersection and stopped to wait for the pedestrian light to change. As he caught his breath, he realized someone was standing next to him — a gorgeous blonde, casually dressed in workout gear, with earbuds dangling around her neck.

She glanced down, then did a double-take. Her eyes widened, and a curious smile crept onto her face.

“Uh… I hope you don’t mind me asking,” she said with a playful tone, “but what’s going on with those huge bulges in your shorts?”

The man chuckled, realizing what it must have looked like. “Oh, these? Just tennis balls,” he replied casually, giving her a friendly smile.

Her expression instantly changed from curiosity to concern. She winced slightly and said in a sympathetic voice, “Wow… that must be so uncomfortable. I once had tennis elbow, and it was absolutely unbearable!”

The man opened his mouth to explain — but then the light turned green, and she jogged away, leaving him standing there, shaking his head and laughing to himself.
